HELP & LEGAL
Seller Terms & Conditions.
These seller-specific terms explain the rules for seller accounts, launch pricing, payouts, orders, fulfillment, compliance, storefronts, and participation on Arctic Plate.
1. Scope and related policies
These Seller Terms & Conditions (“Seller Terms”) apply to businesses and individuals that create, maintain, or use an Arctic Plate seller account or storefront. They supplement the general Arctic Plate Terms, Privacy Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy, Food Disclosure, and Seller Content & Marketing Policy. Transaction-specific notices and the exact pricing record shown in the marketplace may also apply to a particular order or account action.
2. Arctic Plate’s role
Arctic Plate provides an Alaska-focused marketplace and ordering platform that helps independent food sellers create storefronts, list products, receive orders, communicate order information, and offer available fulfillment options. Sellers operate independently. Arctic Plate does not employ sellers, operate their businesses, issue food permits, or replace licenses, inspections, registrations, tax obligations, or other legal requirements that apply to a seller.
3. Seller eligibility and public listing
Creating a seller account does not automatically make a storefront public. Arctic Plate may review marketplace readiness before public listing. Eligibility can depend on the seller’s business type, products, preparation environment, location, food-safety requirements, permit or licensing pathway, fulfillment methods, required acknowledgments, payout readiness, and other applicable requirements. Arctic Plate marketplace approval is not a government inspection, license, or certification of legal compliance.
4. Seller account responsibilities
Sellers must provide accurate and current account, business, contact, payout, and storefront information and protect access to their accounts. Sellers are responsible for completing required onboarding, acknowledgments, and payment or payout setup. Sellers must promptly update information that becomes inaccurate or outdated.
5. Seller control and non-exclusivity
Sellers control their own menu listings, item prices, availability, ordering schedule, inventory or quantity availability, pickup settings, and supported fulfillment options. Arctic Plate does not require exclusivity. Sellers may continue using their own website, social media, in-person sales, other ordering systems, or other lawful sales and marketing channels.
6. Storefront and listing accuracy
Sellers must keep business information, menu items, descriptions, prices, availability, photographs, pickup information, fulfillment settings, and required disclosures reasonably accurate and current. Sellers may not publish false, deceptive, materially misleading, unlawful, or knowingly unavailable listings. Arctic Plate may require correction or removal of inaccurate, unsafe, unlawful, or inappropriate listings.
7. Storefront readiness
As part of final approval and continued public storefront eligibility, sellers are expected to maintain a customer-ready storefront. This includes at least one clear and appropriate storefront or cover image, current active menu listings, accurate pricing and availability, clear food or product images where appropriate, required disclosures, and current fulfillment information. Arctic Plate may temporarily limit public visibility when a storefront is materially incomplete, inaccurate, unsafe, abandoned, or otherwise not ready for customers.
8. Legal, licensing, and food-safety responsibility
Each seller is responsible for determining and following the laws and requirements that apply to the seller and the products offered. Depending on the seller and product, these may include Alaska and local food requirements, business licensing, food establishment permits, homemade-food rules, source requirements, labeling, allergen disclosures, temperature control, taxes, and other regulatory obligations. Sellers must only list products they are legally permitted to sell.
9. Orders
When a customer places an order through Arctic Plate, the order details recorded by the marketplace form the transaction record. Sellers are responsible for reviewing incoming orders, managing order status accurately, preparing the correct items and quantities, and following the fulfillment method recorded for the order. Sellers should not accept an order they cannot reasonably fulfill.
10. Fulfillment
Arctic Plate may support customer pickup, seller delivery, and Arctic Plate delivery where available. Not every fulfillment method is available for every seller, order, location, or time. Sellers must provide accurate pickup or handoff information and cooperate with the fulfillment method selected for an order. Arctic Plate delivery availability is not guaranteed.
11. Payments and seller payouts
Marketplace payments are processed through Arctic Plate’s payment infrastructure and payment provider. Seller payout onboarding currently uses Stripe Connect where applicable. Payout availability and timing can depend on connected-account status, payment status, order status, refund activity, payment-provider requirements, and other applicable factors. The financial record associated with a marketplace order, including its stored pricing and fee record, controls that order’s calculation.
12. Current launch seller pricing
During Arctic Plate’s current launch period, seller signup is free, seller access is $0 per month, and the Arctic Plate seller commission on food sales is 0%. Arctic Plate also does not separately deduct an Arctic Plate seller payment-processing fee from seller earnings during launch. Customer-facing service fees, delivery charges, and other customer charges are separate and are shown through the marketplace when applicable. Charges imposed directly by a seller’s bank, financial institution, or another third party outside Arctic Plate’s control are governed by that provider.
13. 30-day notice before Arctic Plate-controlled seller pricing changes
If Arctic Plate introduces or increases an Arctic Plate-controlled seller subscription, seller commission, seller payment-processing charge, or other seller-facing marketplace fee, affected sellers will receive at least 30 days’ advance notice before the new pricing takes effect. Notice may be provided through the seller account, marketplace interface, the email address associated with the seller account, or another reasonable seller communication method. A seller may stop using Arctic Plate before the new pricing becomes effective if the seller does not wish to continue under the new pricing. Changes required sooner by law, government action, payment-network requirements, fraud prevention, security requirements, or another matter outside Arctic Plate’s reasonable control may be handled separately when necessary.
14. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellation and refund outcomes depend on the original order, order stage, preparation status, fulfillment status, responsibility for the cancellation, and the applicable marketplace policy. A seller may be asked to provide preparation or fulfillment information during review. Arctic Plate uses the original order record for applicable refund calculations rather than repricing the order later. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
15. Seller content and marketing
Sellers retain ownership of original content they provide, subject to rights belonging to others, and may only upload content they own or have sufficient rights to use. Arctic Plate’s permission to use seller storefront content in promotion is governed by the separate Seller Content & Marketing Policy. That policy also describes the expectations that apply to storefront completeness and seller participation in marketplace promotion while seller access is offered without a monthly seller fee.
16. Customer information and marketplace use
Seller access to customer information must be used only for legitimate order fulfillment, customer service, and permitted marketplace-related purposes. Sellers may not misuse customer information, payment information, marketplace communications, reviews, or account data.
17. Platform features, promotion, and no sales guarantee
Arctic Plate may add, modify, pause, or retire marketplace features as the platform develops. Features such as follower updates, preorder or limited-release tools, delivery options, customer loyalty or recognition features, promotional placement, and other seller tools may have separate eligibility or availability rules. Arctic Plate may choose which sellers or products to promote and does not guarantee traffic, orders, revenue, profit, advertising, delivery coverage, search placement, or any specific amount of promotion.
18. Prohibited seller conduct
Sellers may not use Arctic Plate for fraud, unlawful food sales, deceptive listings, false business information, payment abuse, harassment, discrimination, scams, unsafe conduct, account misuse, manipulation of reviews or marketplace records, interference with marketplace security, or other activity that reasonably places customers, sellers, Arctic Plate, or the marketplace at risk.
19. Account restriction, suspension, or removal
Arctic Plate may restrict, pause, suspend, remove, or decline a seller or storefront when reasonably necessary for customer safety, account security, suspected fraud, legal or regulatory concerns, materially inaccurate listings, repeated failure to fulfill accepted orders, marketplace abuse, failure to meet storefront-readiness requirements, or violation of these Seller Terms or another applicable Arctic Plate policy. Arctic Plate may request additional information before making or reviewing an account decision.
20. Changes to these Seller Terms
Arctic Plate may update these Seller Terms as the marketplace develops. Material changes may be communicated through the website, seller account, marketplace interface, email, or another reasonable communication method. Arctic Plate may require renewed acceptance when a material update affects seller rights or obligations. Seller-pricing changes controlled by Arctic Plate remain subject to the 30-day advance-notice commitment in Section 13.
