SELLER POLICY
Seller Content & Marketing Policy.
This policy explains how Arctic Plate may use seller storefront content for marketing after a seller accepts this policy.
Arctic Plate helps independent Alaska food sellers promote and sell their products through the Arctic Plate marketplace.
1. Seller ownership
Sellers keep ownership of the photographs, logos, business names, menu descriptions, product information, and other original content they provide to Arctic Plate.
2. Permission granted to Arctic Plate
After accepting this policy, the seller grants Arctic Plate a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, crop, resize, format, and incorporate the seller’s public storefront content into promotional materials for the purpose of promoting the seller, the seller’s Arctic Plate storefront, and the Arctic Plate marketplace.
3. Content covered by this permission
This permission includes the seller’s business or storefront name; logo; storefront images; food and product photographs; menu item names and descriptions; prices and publicly displayed availability; and other information the seller makes publicly available through Arctic Plate.
4. Where Arctic Plate may use seller content
Arctic Plate may use approved seller content on Arctic Plate websites and applications, Facebook pages and local Facebook groups, other social media platforms, digital advertisements, email marketing, promotional graphics, and other reasonable marketing channels used to promote Arctic Plate or participating sellers.
5. Promotional formatting
Arctic Plate may add Arctic Plate branding, text, pricing, calls to action, layouts, cropping, resizing, or other reasonable formatting to seller content for promotional purposes. Arctic Plate will not intentionally materially misrepresent a seller, the seller’s business, or the seller’s products.
6. Seller responsibility for uploaded content
Sellers confirm that they own the content they upload or have sufficient permission to allow Arctic Plate to use it as described in this policy. Sellers are responsible for keeping their menu information, prices, availability, photographs, and other storefront information reasonably accurate and current.
7. Storefront image and listing standards
As a condition of final seller approval and continued public storefront eligibility, sellers must upload and maintain at least one clear, appropriate storefront or cover image. Sellers are also expected to keep active menu listings current and to upload clear food or product photographs for items they want Arctic Plate to promote.
8. Seller promotion and customer participation
During any period in which Arctic Plate offers seller access without a monthly seller fee, sellers agree to make reasonable efforts to promote their Arctic Plate storefront and direct their existing customers, followers, and community to Arctic Plate when promoting products that are available through their Arctic Plate storefront. This may include sharing the seller’s Arctic Plate storefront link on social media, business pages, customer communications, or other appropriate channels. This requirement does not make Arctic Plate the seller’s exclusive sales channel and does not prevent the seller from operating or marketing independently elsewhere.
9. Promotional eligibility
Arctic Plate may choose which sellers, storefronts, and products to promote and may prioritize sellers whose storefronts are complete, current, responsive, visually ready for customers, and actively participating in marketplace promotion. Products without clear and usable photographs may not be selected for social media or other promotional campaigns. Arctic Plate does not guarantee sales, customer traffic, advertising, or any specific amount of promotion.
10. Personal likeness
This policy covers storefront and product content. It does not automatically authorize Arctic Plate to use a seller’s personal likeness in advertising when an image prominently features an identifiable person. Arctic Plate may request separate permission when appropriate.
11. Ending future marketing use
A seller may ask Arctic Plate to stop using specific seller content in new marketing materials. Arctic Plate will stop creating new promotional materials using that content within a reasonable period after receiving the request. A request to stop future use does not necessarily require immediate removal of materials that were already published, distributed, archived, or incorporated into an earlier campaign before the request was received.
12. No transfer of ownership
Nothing in this policy transfers ownership of seller content to Arctic Plate. The permission granted under this policy is a license to use the content for the purposes described above.
13. Seller acceptance and acceptance record
This policy applies to a seller only after the seller affirmatively accepts it through an Arctic Plate-approved electronic acceptance method. Arctic Plate may retain the seller’s acceptance record, including the seller’s identity, business/storefront name, email address, date and time of acceptance, and the policy version accepted.
14. Policy updates
Arctic Plate may update this policy from time to time. If Arctic Plate makes a material change that expands how seller content may be used, Arctic Plate may request renewed acceptance from affected sellers before relying on the expanded permission.
